Safeguarding Our Players

Safeguarding our players is our top priority.

However, safeguarding isn't just about keeping people safe, it's about providing a healthy environment for players to develop physically and mentally, and for them to enjoy their football.

General safeguarding

Regards general safeguarding, this is everyone's responsibility. Should you have any concerns about your child, or another child, you must raise those concerns as soon as possible - no action is not an option.

The steps you should take, if you do have concerns, are below:

1. You should contact your Club Welfare Officer (details below) in the first instance - they will either deal with it themselves or escalate it to the Derbyshire FA Designated Safeguarding Officer (details below)
2. Should the concern be more serious or about those within the club, you should contact the Derbyshire FA Designated Safeguarding Officer in the first instance
3. Alternatively, for league or team specific issues, you can also contact the League Welfare Officer for the league that you or your child plays in
4. Should your concerns be serious and/or immediate - about something such as possible child abuse - you should contact the Police (999), Children's Services and the Derbyshire FA Designated Safeguarding Officer
5. Should a child need medical attention, call an ambulance and tell them that it is a child welfare concern - you should then inform your Club Welfare Officer
6. You can also contact the FA/NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) helpline should you feel that you have nowhere else to turn - they can be called on 0808 800 5000
7. Other bodies you can contact, should you have concerns or be suffering from abuse, are Childline (0800 1111), Call Derbyshire (01629 533190)

The Club Welfare Officer for Hasland Community FC is Natalie Dickens. As stated above, our Club Welfare Officer is the first port of call should you have any concerns. Her contact details are below.
